OUR CORE VALUES

INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION

We truly believe that Pilates is for everybody and that every “body” is unique -- meaning there is no one-kind-fits-all class, workout or sequence that works for everyone. This is why our members-only boutique studio exclusively offers privates and semi-private sessions of no more than 5 clients. Instead of feeling lost-in-the-crowd in a large group class, Via Pilates’ highly trained instructors tailor individualized programs for each client.

We know our one-on-one focus makes a difference – so whether you’re a professional athlete, a new parent, a busy professional, a retiree, new to exercise or a long-time Pilates practitioner… visit Via Pilates to learn how your body can feel and function its very best!

EFFECTIVE METHODS

Simply put…Via Pilates’ methods work and they get results. All instructors are expertly trained in Pilates and many also have backgrounds in physical therapy, massage or in teaching dance, yoga or martial arts. Blending Pilates with other mindful movement techniques helps us tailor the most effective programs for our clients’ needs. Our focus isn’t on simply working out, but rather on working smart so clients achieve real results. The work is purposeful, progressive, challenging, and accessible – for all types of movement enthusiasts (or soon-to-be-movement enthusiasts).

Book a session with Via Pilates’ resident Master Instructor or one of our physical therapists for an extra boost to your Pilates practice!

CREATING COMMUNITY

Clients matter at Via Pilates because we teach people, Pilates is simply the method! Relationships matter because connections with your instructors and and fellow clients help encourage consistency. Our private and semi-private group sessions provide a comfortable, welcoming environment where the focus is on moving, learning, working hard and having fun!

We can help you reach your training goals, regardless of age, shape, size, color, injury, fitness level or ability, and are particularly committed to supporting and encouraging greater diversity in the Pilates world. Via Pilates is proud to partner with Balanced Body’s Community Expansion Scholarship Program to help create more opportunities for and train teachers who come from Black and other underrepresented communities.

SHARING KNOWLEDGE

Education is a commitment the studio makes from the top-down. Via Pilates is an Authorized Training Center for Balanced Body, the world’s most widely recognized Pilates teacher training program. We also offer an Apprenticeship Program that provides paid on-the-job training and mentorship for Pilates teacher trainees. In addition to regular workshops on topics ranging from pelvic floor health to managing back pain, Via Pilates regularly invites respected local, national and international Pilates and movement leaders to share workshops and courses with Via Pilates clients and staff.

Our client-focused approach means we do more than just provide a great Pilates session every time we see you – we help you develop the skills to keep up your improvements outside the studio, too!

KATIE LANDIER

PT, DPT, GCS, NCPT® Certified Pilates Instructor

Katie Mullen, PT, DPT, GCS is a licensed Physical Therapist and an NCPT® Certified Pilates Instructor at Via Pilates. Being of service and inspiring change are what make Katie’s heart sing. Practicing physical therapy has allowed for her to do both daily, and she believes Pilates will allow her to develop those passions even further. Katie initially came to Via Pilates to better her own health and well-being and found that the studio's methods bettered her practice as a physical therapist as well.

Katie is a Henderson native, but earned her B.S. in Exercise Science from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 2015 and went on to earn her Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona in 2017. Katie earned her Board-Certified Clinical Specialty in Geriatric Physical Therapy (GCS) in 2020. Although Katie enjoys working with clients of all ages, treating older adults is where Katie feels she makes her greatest impact on her community. Katie believes it is essential that physical therapists, Pilates and movement experts, and all health care providers recognize that older adults have unique needs, none of which include handling them with kid gloves.

Katie has practiced primarily in inpatient rehab and acute care settings before coming to Via Pilates and is experienced in working with clients who are battling acute and chronic conditions alike, from low back pain to Parkinson’s disease. Katie’s aim is to empower people to maintain and/or regain control of their health, independence, and livelihoods, so all her clients can pursue and enjoy whatever it is that makes their hearts sing!

SHANNON ZAKHARKIN

Pilates Instructor

Shannon's Pilates journey began by dabbling in Pilates mat classes after realizing that years of hard-hitting strength training workouts were taking a toll on her body. With Pilates, the back pain she'd experienced from a lifetime dealing with scoliosis and years working at a desk seemed to disappear the more she practiced. Shannon found Pilates was just the energy boost she needed for her busy life, plus, the health benefits it provided were immeasurable - from helping her scoliosis to her pelvic floor to her mental health. The focus of strength and health coming from the inside out speaks to Shannon who, as a trauma survivor who has struggled with an eating disorder and body dysmorphia, loves how Pilates has helped her truly love herself and feel strong from within. And she loves that Pilates has become part of her method in helping others who face similar challenges. In addition to spending time with her family and her Pilates, Shannon spends her time mentoring other women who are struggling with eating disorders, trauma and addiction...and she says: Remember, it's not what you see in the mirror - it's how you feel on the inside!

Sara began her journey to a healthier, sustainable and more active lifestyle in 2018. She started by ditching highly processed foods, sugars, and alcohols – but don’t let her fool you, she loves her sweets; it’s all about moderation. As the weight began to disappear, her activity level continued to grow…starting with small workouts and testing out different programs, Sara tried out her first Pilates class in January of 2021. Pilates soon became something she looked forward to doing daily and a beautiful escape that empowered her and ultimately became part of her identity. It has not only made her stronger, more agile and lean, but has also helped transform her mindset. Now, as she trains to become a Pilates instructor through the Balanced Body Comprehensive Instructor Training Program, she is eager to continue her own growth while helping others experience the same incredible benefits she’s found.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

FAQ

WHERE DO I START?

DO YOU OFFER A TRIAL MEMBERSHIP?

All new clients/members at Via Pilates are required to take a series of three private sessions with one of our certified Pilates instructors before joining in any group sessions - even if you have previous Pilates experience. Some exceptions may be made for visiting instructors or Pilates instructor trainees, so please contact the studio with any questions or to make arrangements.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR GROUP SESSIONS?

Our "trial membership" is our 3-session Introductory Special which is available for all new clients. These one-on-one sessions are an excellent deal for three 50-minute sessions with a certified Pilates instructor for just $179 (a $330 value) and will give you a chance to get to know us, the studio and our methods and see if we're a fit for your goals and needs before you make a longer-term commitment.

HOW DO I SIGN UP FOR PRIVATE SESSIONS?

In order to sign up for a group session (class), clients must pre-pay for a session, pack or membership. Clients with 5 or 10-Session Packs, 6 or 12-Month Memberships may sign up for classes up to 30 days in advance. Active members can check our app or the online schedule to see how many spots are still available for a class and to sign up. If class is full, we recommend signing up for the wait list in case space opens up.

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO MY SESSION?

Private Sessions are scheduled directly with your instructor or through the studio's front desk, and are dependent on instructor availability. Clients with 6 or 12-month memberships are given priority for "standing" appointment times which can be arranged on an ongoing basis. Single private sessions are arranged on an individual basis. We recommend signing up in advance for sessions with Master Instructor Jeanine Yutani as her schedule fills up quickly.

WHY ARE YOU A "PRIVATE STUDIO"?

Comfortable yoga-style attire is appropriate for all sessions, and we suggest fitness tights/shorts underneath for men if they wear gym/running shorts. Grip socks are required for all in the studio (some exceptions made for rehab/PT patients). Avoid perfume or other strongly scents to keep everyone comfortable. Long or dangling jewelry could get caught in the equipment, and long hair should be tied back for safety reasons.

We are committed to focusing first and foremost on the needs of our clients. As a truly "boutique" studio, we aren't dependent on large numbers of clients, so we are able to prioritize the quality of your experience. This means that we listen to when clients want classes/sessions, what time they want them, and what types they want. We keep group sessions small - just 4 or 5 people - so every client receives the individual attention they expect from Via Pilates.

CLIENT REVIEWS

About the best Pilates studio imaginable. Owner Jeanine is incredibly educated and observant about how my body is reacting to her directions. She adapts routines to suit students individually. Great directions. Good workouts. No injuries. The staff genuinely cares. I'm in my 70s and getting stronger and more flexible in their care.
